The origin of 0566 is Chiryu City, Aichi Prefecture, Japan. The roasting, product development, and philosophy regarding coffee at 0566 Coffee Factory all began here. Even as our activities expand globally, this origin will not change.

A NEW EXPRESSION OF 0566.
0566's connection with China has developed through our partners in Shanghai. Beginning with Shanghai, the 0566 name has found a new audience and developed its own local expression. While sharing its roots and history with Japan, our partners in China continue to develop 0566 within their own culture and market. Different cities. Different cultures. Connected by coffee.

OUR OWN ROUTE FROM ORIGIN TO JAPAN.
Our relationship with Sumatra goes beyond conventional sourcing. Around Lake Toba, one of Indonesia's distinctive coffee-producing regions, we have developed our own local network and sourcing route connecting the origin directly with Japan. Through relationships built locally, 0566 directly imports Kopi Luwak from the Lake Toba region to Japan. For us, direct sourcing is not simply about shortening the supply chain. It is about knowing where the coffee comes from, understanding the people behind it, and building relationships between origin and roastery.

EXPLORING THE NEXT COFFEE.
Samosir Island lies within the vast Lake Toba caldera in North Sumatra. 0566 travels to Samosir to meet local coffee producers, visit farms and processing facilities, and explore different approaches to coffee production. Washed. Natural. Honey. Giling Basah. Rather than simply searching for coffee to purchase, we are exploring a different question:

Searching for the next coffee on Samosir Island. 0566 is actively building relationships with producers on Samosir Island, visiting farms and processing plants. Rather than just searching for a finished coffee, we are exploring the possibility of **"Can we create a 0566-esque coffee from this land?"**”
FROM SOURCING TO CREATION.
In Bali, our journey goes one step further. Working with people at the origin, we explore varieties, fermentation, processing, and new approaches to expressing the character of Indonesian coffee. Our ambition is simple.
“DON'T JUST FIND GREAT COFFEE. HELP CREATE IT. For 0566, this is another step in the journey from coffee roaster to coffee creator. Rather than just sourcing coffee, we're involved in its creation from the origin. In Bali, we are working to deepen our involvement in coffee production through relationships with producers, focusing on aspects like variety, fermentation, and processing. Beyond just finding good coffee, we aim to create good coffee together with the producers. This is one of the goals 0566 is striving for.”
