Delicious on the rocks! The ultimate coffee liqueur makes its debut!
0566 Coffee Factory and Sonno Kuramoto, a long-established sake brewery founded in the Meiji era, have collaborated to create a Japanese coffee liqueur that blends sake and coffee. Its name is "BLACK MAGIC"!

A delicious sugar-free Japanese coffee liqueur, perfect on the rocks! This ultimate coffee liqueur, named BLACK MAGIC, is a blend of Junmai Ginjo sake and specialty coffee, finished without sugar. The harmony created by the fruity Junmai Ginjo sake and the rich, fruity notes of Ethiopian coffee… its flavor combines not only the "cherry blossom" and "apple" notes of Junmai Ginjo sake but also the "bitter chocolate" and "mango" flavors of coffee.

Until now, most coffee liqueurs were sweetened and not really something you could drink straight. We heard many comments like, "It's too sweet," "Can't you make it a little less sweet?" and "Can't you make something more bitter?"

So, we pursued a "coffee liqueur that tastes great straight and on the rocks," and after much trial and error, a surprising fact came to light. We concluded that "added sugar" tends to dull the flavor, masking it in both good and bad ways.

To put it bluntly, "even if you use low-quality liquor or coffee, adding sugar can mask the taste." Conversely, "if you don't add sugar and make it sugar-free, there's no hiding anything." So, we thought, if we make it sugar-free and use high-quality sake and coffee, wouldn't we be able to create an incredibly delicious coffee liqueur?

This led to the idea of a sugar-free product. By eliminating all sugars, the inherent sweetness and umami of the "sake" and "coffee" emerged, and thus, a delicious, sugar-free Japanese coffee liqueur perfect for drinking on the rocks was born.

To make a delicious coffee liqueur, you need delicious sake! High-quality Junmai Ginjo sake has a fruity flavor. We wondered, "Could we bring out this Junmai Ginjo sake flavor in a coffee liqueur?" We realized that if it was sugar-free, we could highlight this delicacy without compromising it!

And conversely, we thought, if we chose a delicate, high-quality coffee that wouldn't overpower the sake's flavor, we could achieve a successful fusion. This led us to Yirgacheffe coffee from Ethiopia, known for its fruity aroma and taste. That's right, it was precisely because it was sugar-free that we were able to harmonize sake and coffee.

"Ethiopia Yirgacheffe" is located at an altitude of 2500m and is known as one of Ethiopia's leading producers of high-quality coffee. The high altitude and drastic temperature differences create excellent acidity in the coffee beans. Its aroma and flavor are so exquisite that they are compared to full-bodied red wine or the fruit itself.

One of the specialties of coffee roaster "0566 Coffee Factory" is coffee bean "blending," and by applying this technique, the combination of this Junmai Ginjo and the harmonious Ethiopian coffee was born. BLACK MAGIC is a coffee liqueur that captivates both "sake lovers" and "coffee lovers."

Since it's an exquisite coffee liqueur, we want you to enjoy it straight or on the rocks. However, precisely because it's sugar-free, it holds infinite possibilities. Try mixing it with milk, or use it in various cocktails.
*Straight / 30ml at room temperature. Of course, chilled is also good.
*Milk au Lait / 30ml milk + 30ml BLACK MAGIC + 20g whipped cream
*Espresso Martini / Shake 15ml syrup + 60ml BLACK MAGIC
etc.

"BLACK MAGIC" uses a cold brew manufacturing method where coffee beans themselves are steeped directly in "sake." The sake used is Junmai Ginjo sake – an exquisite product with a rice polishing ratio of 55%, crafted with the "uncompromising artisan spirit" by "Sonno Kuramoto," founded in 1903.

Sonno Kuramoto is a sake brewery that has single-mindedly pursued authentic deliciousness in sake brewing in the Hazu area of Nishio City, Aichi Prefecture, overlooking Mikawa Bay.

Typically, fruit liqueurs are made by adding "fruit juice" to "sake." In other words, the "liquid" of fruit is mixed with the "liquid" of sake. This reduces the alcohol content due to the fruit juice, and while the sake flavor decreases, the fruitiness emerges. This is a common method for making liqueurs, even though it dilutes the alcohol.

In contrast, "BLACK MAGIC" employs a cold brew manufacturing method where coffee beans themselves are steeped directly in "sake." This means no "water" or other liquids are used for coffee extraction; it's made solely with sake and coffee beans.

This prevents other liquids from mixing with the sake, keeping the concentration and alcohol content almost unchanged. Therefore, the sake is not diluted and its flavor is preserved. And because coffee beans are directly steeped in the sake for extraction, the coffee flavor comes through directly as well.

This truly creates a WIN-WIN relationship between "sake" and "coffee," bringing out the flavor and umami of both. However, with this manufacturing method, the coffee beans absorb the sake, and the volume decreases by nearly half during the filtration process, significantly increasing costs. Both the "sake" and "coffee" used are high-quality, which drives up the cost. Furthermore, the cold brew method reduces the volume by almost half... Nevertheless, pursuing "deliciousness" led us to this manufacturing method.

Normally, mixing "coffee liquid" with "sake" would increase the volume and save costs. However, driven by the desire to "not dilute it with water!" and "it's definitely better to be delicious, even if it costs more," we decided to release BLACK MAGIC to the world. While it may be a somewhat premium liqueur, it is the result of our absolute commitment to deliciousness.
"Delicious straight, delicious on the rocks, a sugar-free Japanese coffee liqueur" BLACK MAGIC will transport you to a subtly sweet, other-dimensional moment.
There are surprisingly many people who "love coffee" and "love sake," and BLACK MAGIC, which satisfies both, is truly a killer item.
