I never knew such coffee existed in Myanmar. It has a slightly unusual and unique flavor. With a mysterious sweet, buttery aroma, it glides smoothly into your mouth and spreads with a savory richness. It also has a deep body, so it seems likely to be popular with people of various preferences. To think such coffee was sleeping... this is a great discovery!
Production Area DataThis coffee is made by small-scale farmers living in Ywangan Village, Shan State. They have quite a collection of varieties, so good flavors are bound to emerge. The quality of the green beans is evident. The solid, deep green color is not easily achieved. Perhaps due to the diligent national character of Myanmar, the post-harvest processing capabilities are of considerable quality. With the lifting of economic sanctions by the U.S. in 2012, market liberalization progressed rapidly, and Myanmar coffee began to arrive in Japan. Myanmar may not be a country typically associated with coffee, but it may become increasingly prominent in the future.
